Illinois Boasts 4 Players on U.S. Women’s National Team Training Camp Roster

WOmen's National Team Training Camp RosterCOLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey announced today the schedule and 24-player roster for the 2014 U.S. Women’s National Team Training Camp that will take place Oct. 28-31 at the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado.

The training camp roster features nine members of the silver medal-winning 2014 U.S. Women’s Olympic Ice Hockey Team. Those players are Kacey Bellamy (Westfield, Mass.), Megan Bozek (Buffalo Grove, Ill.), Brianna Decker (Dousman, Wis.), Hilary Knight (Sun Valley, Idaho), Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson (Grand Forks, N.D.), Monique Lamoureux (Grand Forks, N.D.), Brianne McLaughlin-Bittle (Sheffield Village, Ohio), Molly Schaus (Natick, Mass.) and Anne Schleper (St. Cloud, Minn.).

In addition to the continued training of players in the women’s program, this camp will provide nine college graduates with the opportunity to prepare for the 2014 Four Nations Cup. Bozek, Bellamy, Decker, Alyssa Gagliardi (Raleigh, N.C.), Knight, Lamoureux, McLaughlin-Bittle, Alex Rigsby (Delafield, Wis.) and Schaus will compete in the upcoming Four Nations Cup, Nov. 4-8, in Kamloops, British Columbia. Collegiate players named to the Four Nations Cup roster will not attend the camp.

The 24 players represent 13 different states. Massachusetts leads the pack with five representatives followed by Illinois with four players and Minnesota with three. North Dakota and Wisconsin have a pair of players, while Alaska, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina and Ohio all have one representative.

NOTES: Reagan Carey (Colorado Springs, Colo.), USA Hockey’s director of women’s hockey, is the general manager of the 2014 U.S. Women’s National Team … Ken Klee (Littleton, Colo.) will serve as head coach for the camp and he will be assisted by Robb Stauber (Medina, Minn.), Bob Deraney (Providence, R.I.) and Brett Strot (Tampa, Fla.).
