AHAI proudly announces the players invited to the 2015 AHAI Player Boys Development Camp for Midget and Bantam age players at the AHAI Hockey Center in Bensenville, Illinois to be conducted March, 20-22, 2015.
For the past 36 years, USA Hockey in conjunction with the U.S. Olympic Committee, has been conducting Player Development Camps at their facilities in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Lake Placid, New York, Buffalo, New York and St. Cloud, Minnesota, as well as other designated United States Olympic training facilities for the purpose of identifying and training the top Midget and Bantam age players nationally whom they feel have the potential to play on future United States National Teams in international competition.
The AHAI Player Development/Evaluation Camp is conducted each year in spring for the purpose of selecting the players from Illinois who will attend these various USA Hockey Camps and Select Team Festivals. The Camp is designed so that players can demonstrate their skills in game conditions. Attendance at the Camp is for United States Citizens registered with USA Hockey, currently not on suspension, and is by invitation only. Walk-ons are not permitted as the Camp format requires a pre-assignment to a team and jersey number for evaluation. Nominations are accepted by the Player Development Committee from coaches of High School, Midget and Bantam teams from throughout Illinois. These nominations are reviewed by a selection committee and invitations are mailed to the players selected to participate in the AHAI Player Development/Evaluation Camp.
All games are played in front of evaluators. The evaluators come from college programs, the Chicago Blackhawks, the Chicago Blackhawk Alumni, and respected members of the Illinois Hockey Coaching Community.
