Central Girls downs Atlantic Girls, 2-1

Kirstin LaBelle tallied one point to lead Central Girls to a 2-1 victory over Atlantic Girls.

Central Girls stifled Atlantic Girls’ power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Central Girls’ offense rang up 43 shots on Atlantic Girls’ net.

Central Girls also got a goal from Jillian Rowland as well. Other players who recorded assists for Central Girls were Delayne Ivanowski, Natalie Ryan, and Dakota Golde, who contributed one each.

Atlantic Girls managed to stay out of the box for the most part, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Even so, Atlantic Girls surpassed its low season average of 1.0 penalty minutes per game. Atlantic Girls did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting nine shots on net to force eight saves.

Atlantic Girls was led by Caitlin Costello, who scored the team’s only goal. Costello scored 6:24 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Atlantic Girls.

Meagan Hearn rejected eight shots on goal for Central Girls. Central Girls incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Devon Strachan recorded 41 saves for Atlantic Girls. Atlantic Girls registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
