By Maulers Hockey Association
In early September the Illinois Hockey Community came together to support Dylan Czerlanis, a midget goaltender for the Maulers Hockey Association. Dylan lost his father several years ago, and his mother, Colleen Mars, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015. She was his only surviving relative.
A person of less character may have simply given up at this point. His mother Colleen didn’t raise him that way. Dylan is strong and Dylan is a hockey player. Dylan decided he would continue to play hockey with his team, just the way his mother would have wanted. The Mauler’s, his hockey organization, knew there would be so many things Dylan would need in the future and the club began its campaign to reach out to any and all hockey friends and families. To date the Dylan Czerlanis GoFundMe site has raised nearly $36,000. Bauer was one of the companies contacted in this attempt. Not only did Bauer answer the call (the very next day), they committed to outfitting Dylan from head to toe in new goalie equipment! This generous gift doesn’t ease Dylan’s personal loss but it will go a long way for a growing young man to be able to continue playing the game he and his mother loved.
