The 22nd Annual Chicago Blackhawks Charities High School Hockey Classic, presented by Coca-Cola Zero and supported by Comcast Sportsnet, recently took place at the Edge Ice Arena located at 735 Jefferson Street in Bensenville, Illinois from Saturday, December 26, 2015 through Tuesday, December 29, 2015. This year’s tournament featured twenty (20) high school teams.

Tournament play was conducted in a round robin format with the top six (6) teams in the “A” pool and the top two (2) teams from the “B” pool advancing to the playoff round. The quarter-final games featured St. Ignatius OH beating its sister school St. Ignatius IL 9-1, Rockford edging out CBC from Indiana 4-3, Providence on top of St. Viator 7-3 and New Trier Green beating Stevenson 8-1.

The semi-final games were very exciting as St. Ignatius OH shutout Rockford 6-0 and Providence edged out New Trier Green 2-1 to set-up a very entertaining Championship game between St. Ignatius OH and Providence. St. Ignatius OH then outlasted Providence 3-1 to become the champions for 2015.

We congratulate all twenty teams on being part of the extraordinary event during the holiday season.

All Tournament proceeds benefited the Chicago Blackhawks Charities which supports amateur hockey as well as underprivileged and abused children.
