The CYA Pee Wee Major team arrived Wednesday, February 10th to a very cold Quebec, Canada and hit the ground running at the 57th Le Tournoi International de Hockey Pee-Wee de Québec! They played their first tournament game on Friday against the Canadian team Richmond Hills. CYA pulled out their first win, 2-1 with goals scored by Trevor Stachowiak and Will Soloway. This game advanced the boys to their next tournament game on Thursday, February 18th vs the New York Rangers. Click HERE for tournament schedule.
The boys have been keeping busy touring Quebec at the famous Carnaval de Québec where they played giant size foosball and bowling as well as tobogganed and tubed. Pin trading has been a hit with these boys and the CYA pin is a hot commodity here!
The Pee Wee Majors also played an exhibition game on Saturday, February 13th vs the Quebec Remparts AAA team which ended in a 2-2 tie. Two more exhibition games are set for this week vs. the Long Island Stars and Team Minnesota.
This experience is truly proving to be a once in a life time experience for these 12 and 13 year old boys! Here’s to bringing home the hardware to Chicago!
