New Trier Green to Face Off Against Providence Catholic for 2016 Illinois High School Hockey State Championship

In conjunction with the Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois (AHAI), the Chicago Blackhawks will host the 2016 Illinois State High School Hockey Championships, presented by Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Chevy Dealers, at the United Center on Friday, March 18. The Boys State Championship will feature New Trier Green squaring off against Providence Catholic at 7 p.m.

The Boys State Championship tilt will be broadcast in high-definition on CSN Chicago at 11 p.m. with Judd Sirott and Steve Konroyd on the call. March 18 at the United Center will feature a full day of action with the Illinois Girls’ State Championship (Barrington vs. Loyola, 4 p.m.), the Boys’ Red Division State Championship (New Trier Green vs. Providence Catholic, 7:00 p.m.) and the Boys’ Combined Division State Championship (Buffalo Grove/Hersey/Wheeling High Schools vs. Glenbard, 9:15 p.m.).

This marks the 29th year that AHAI will host their State Championship at the United Center/Chicago Stadium. The 2015 title was won by Glenbrook North High School in the Red Division, Glenbard High Schools in the Combined Division and Latin High School in the Girls’ Division.
