Huskies Hockey Club Mourns the Loss of President, Bob Graham

By Huskies Hockey Club

It is with a truly heavy heart that the Huskies Hockey Club wanted to let our friends and families know that Coach Bob Graham passed away last night.

No words can properly express the sadness felt with the sudden loss of Coach Bob. As the President of the Huskies, he led our organization through its most difficult times. As a Coach, he led our sons and daughters on and off the ice, developing not only hockey players, but also developing a sense of pride, teamwork, loyalty and personal responsibility within each player he coached.

Bob treated every player that he had the privilege to coach as one of his “kids” and enjoyed learning of their lives outside the rink as much as he did seeing them score goals or make tape to tape passes. Coach Bob’s bellowing voice will be deeply missed from the ice at Canlan, now and forever.

Most importantly, we ask for your thoughts, prayers and support for Coach Bob’s family- his wife, children and grandchildren. Coach Bob gave so much of himself to the game of hockey over the years, we would be remiss if we did not recognize that none of what he did for us would have been possible without the unwavering support of his family.

When the details for services are made available, we will share them with the Illinois Hockey Community.

Coach Bob Graham’s celebration of life and memorial hockey game will be held on Thursday, June 1st from 4pm-? at Canlan Ice Arena (1581 W. Normantown Rd. Romeoville, IL). There will be a free open skate for anyone who would like to skate in Coach Bob’s honor from 5pm-6pm so, bring your skates!

We are also organizing a memorial game from 6:10pm-7:20pm. Coach Bob will be so proud to see his Nationals teams playing together again!

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Bob Graham Memorial Hockey Scholarship Fund. Donations can be sent to Chris Lavine @ 312 S. Lorraine Rd. Wheaton, IL. 60187.
