Saturday and Sunday will mark the seventh annual IIHF World Girls Hockey Weekend, a global celebration of the female game, and USA Hockey will celebrate along with its associations nationwide. More than 120 GHW events are scheduled across 31 states, including four led by NHL teams (Carolina Hurricanes, Dallas Stars, New Jersey Devils and San Jose Sharks) and Florida festivities held in conjunction with the United States Women’s National Team.

What is the IIHF World Girls Ice Hockey Weekend?
It’s a special opportunity for girls and women of all ages to try ice hockey. Event hosts worldwide welcome girls and women to the ice so they can:
- Be introduced to basic skills in hockey in a positive, fun and safe environment.
- Learn about ice hockey opportunities in their community and celebrate female hockey.
- Learn about fair play, sportsmanship and teamwork.
- Meet new friends and have a chance to fall in love with a new sport.
