Loyola Academy Supports Misericordia: Serving more than 600 adults with developmental disabilities, Misericordia has touched the lives not only of its residents but of Loyola Academy. Each year the Loyola Academy athletic teams welcome the residents out for a night with the team and a night at the game. This is the third year the Loyola hockey program has participated. The event was held at Heartland Ice Arena on Sunday, November 5. Misericordia residents were invited to see Loyola Gold face off against GBS that evening.
All Loyola hockey teams participated in this fun and worthwhile event. The girls handed out goodie bags and T-shirts to the residents, took donations and sold t-shirts for the game, and a snack table was provided for residents. Players’ “heads” (photos) were mounted on lollipop sticks and the residents waved them to cheer on the Gold team during the game.
Glenbrook High School alum, Caitlin Schneider, has made quite a splash on the college scene! She plays for the University of Wisconsin Badgers, has two goals and two assists, and is plus nine for her freshman season so far! The Badgers are 14-0-0 on the season. The Glenbrook girls truly miss Caitlin, but are happy she’s doing so well on the big stage!
