By Pam Flores

Action Update

Despite the fact that we are so close to the end of the tiering round, the Scholastic and Founders Cup divisions are not yet decided. This is a testament to how competitive the season has been so far. We will recap the tiering round after the holiday break. Stay tuned!

College Commit

Naper Valley Warriors recently had two players sign their letter of commitment to play college hockey.

Senior defensemen Kennedy Kiecker committed to play NCAA Division 3 hockey at St. Norbert in DePere, Wisconsin in the fall. Kennedy attends Neuqua Valley High School. She has played for the Naper Valley Warriors since she was a freshman and was an assistant captain two years ago. She previously played at the Orland Park Vikings where she was also an assistant captain. This year she is rostered on the Sabre 19U team. She is undecided on her major but thrives in science and would like to pursue a degree in education.

Naper Valley forward Venice Rasoulis has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey at the Rochester Institute of Technology! She attends Naperville Central High School and also plays for the Chicago Mission 19U team. Venice plans to study Biomedical Sciences.

Congrats ladies!

Blackhawk’s Spotlight

Lake Forest High School Captain Hannah Matthews was honored on December 8th at the United Center through the Chicago Blackhawk’s Captain’s Spotlight program. Hannah is a senior at Highland Park High school and has played for the Scouts for 4 years. Hannah was able to compare Captain Jerseys during her tour of the locker room and cheered the Blackhawks to an exciting overtime win against the Sabres!

Best wishes to everyone for a wonderful holiday!
