The inaugural CPD Memorial Hockey Jamboree held on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the MB Ice Arena was a huge success! We were able to raise nearly $5000 for our Gold Star families and it’s because of your support!
Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated and participated to honor our CPD Memorial Gold Star families. It was an amazing day. We had over 80 skaters and 12 goalies compete for this very important cause. We had players from all over the area which included the following 18 teams: Niles Rangers, Park Ridge Northern Express, Chicago Blues, Skokie Flyers, Morgan Park Horned Frogs, Chicago Hawks, Elmhurst Chiefs, St. Jude Knights, Chicago Bulldogs, The Mission, The CYA, The Ice Dogs, Glenview Stars, Chicago Bruins, Chicago Stallions, Chicago Riverdogs, Homewood Flossmoor Vikings and the Orland Park Jr. Fury.
Denise Domagala expressed her gratitude and how much the event meant to her and her family. “On behalf of my sons Erik, Craig, Adam, and myself, I’d like you to know we were in awe Saturday at the amazing event Marty Foley organized, you attended, and your families participated in! The jerseys and pucks were beautiful, and your players were outstanding! What a proud time for our family, and those families of the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation to know your support is strong. Thank you. The words ‘Never Forget’ mean more than we can express.”
We would especially like to thank all the Gold Star families that attended the event, Chicago Police Memorial Foundation, Patrick Elwood, WGN television and Nadia Ortiz for her singing of the National Anthem. The Chicago Police Department Honor Guard, Canine Unit and Mounted Unit. Finally, this event could not have been held without the assistance of the Chicago Mission, MB Ice Arena and the Chicago Blackhawks.
