By Teresa Burgin ~ It is with great sadness that the Barrington High School Hockey Club shares news of the tragic and untimely passing of our teammate and friend, Luke Harrod Hutson, following a 4-wheel ATV accident. He died on July 5 surrounded by his family near Breckenridge, Colorado.
Luke joined the BHS Varsity team in the fall of 2016 following his move from Whitefish Bay, WI. He planned to continue his studies at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University this fall. “Luke made an immediate and lasting impact our program, his coaches and peers,” said Steve Martins, Hockey Director for the BHS program. “Luke’s family is in our thoughts and prayers during this especially difficult time.”
Born December 6, 1999, in Mequon, Wisconsin, Luke is the son of Bruce Hutson and Melissa (Weaver) Marin. He is survived by his parents, Bruce Hutson and Melissa Marin; step-father Dean Marin, sister Rachel Hutson and brothers David Hutson, Lucas and Nicholas Marin.
A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Fox Point Lutheran Church in Fox Point, Wisconsin. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with the Service at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation to Rachel and David Hutson’s Foundation in honor of their brother. The Luke Harrod Hutson Foundation will provide annual football, hockey and church mission trip scholarships to teens in the Barrington, IL and Whitefish Bay, WI areas.
In Luke’s honor, we ask you to join us in celebrating life on Friday by taking a moment to #LiveLikeLuke. Hug your family, be thankful for the impact of your friends and the game of hockey on your life and enjoy the world around you.
