Sharpen those skates and let’s hit the ice for another fun-filled season of high school hockey!
The IHSHL Suburban-Hayes Division is proud to kick off our 47th year and begin the pursuit of the heralded Cougar Cup with the start of the 2019-2020 Illinois High School hockey season. Like many of our long time clubs, the Hayes-Suburban Division is growing this fall with the addition of 5 new clubs and 8 additional teams between our Varsity and Junior Varsity tiers.
Our season will consist of 24 games with a 10-game tiering schedule to kick off the season. With the recent completion of our Fall 2019-2020 introductory meeting and coaches dinner, the Hayes-Suburban Board is excited with the attendance and energy our clubs bring to the high school hockey community this fall. On top of the new website that was launched this summer, the board has a defined regular season and post season schedule and many new player recognition honors to roll out throughout the season.
With the addition of teams representing Brother Rice, Marist, Nazareth IC, Neuqua Valley and Oswego, the Hayes-Suburban Division will continue with the strong tradition of our Junior Varsity clubs with 19 teams competing for the Hayes Cup. After the completion of our tiering round, the top 8 teams will compete at Tier 1 and battle for the Hayes Cup while the remaining teams with compete for the Burton Cup.
Our varsity teams will compete for the iconic Cougar Cup, one of the oldest trophies in the history of Illinois High School hockey. It will be an exciting new quest for the cup this year with two new clubs competing for the top spot. Can a new club step up and knock off the defending champions this year?

Let’s all work together to grow the sport we all love and help our players have fun in the process!
