IHSHL North Central Division Update

By Christopher Waters

The North Central League is the largest high school hockey conference in the State! This year the league has 22 varsity teams and 33 junior varsity teams divided among 5 divisions, representing 24 high school hockey programs from all over the Chicago area! Most teams will play around 22 regular season games and 5 playoff games against divisional opponents. The league is excited to add the Lemont-Lockport Spartans and New Trier Blue.

Top returning players from last year include: Jack Elbaum (Sr, Highland Park), Jack Gerber (Jr, Deerfield), Alexander Huddlestun (Sr, Lake Forest), Nathaniel Dee (Sr, Lake Forest), Owen Lewis (Jr, PREP), Sean Goldberg (So, Libertyville), and Evan Wurzbacher (Sr, BGHW). In addition, there are many other new players, making for an exciting and competitive hockey game every night within league play. Last year, Lake Forest won regular season and postseason titles for the top JV division, while New Trier White and Lake Forest split top honors at the top Varsity division. Expect lots of parody throughout the season at all levels of the conference.
