ANNUAL GOALIE CLINIC
Illinois West held our goalie clinic at All Seasons in late July. All West goalies were invited to participate and over 30 attended the 4-day camp. Patrick Meek and other coaches from the Good as Gould Goalie School provided eight hours of both on- and off-ice training to the attendees. Five stations were set up on the All Seasons ice with only goalies and coaches participating. The State of Illinois guidelines were followed by All Seasons, the attendees, and coaches. Goalies received training on shot blocking, rebound control, puck control, movement with and without the puck as well as many other on-ice skills. Off-ice training was designed specifically for goalies and used drills that each goalie may draw from throughout the year to maintain proper goalie preparedness. This was the 11th year for the annual Illinois West Goalie Clinic.

The Friars will field both varsity and junior varsity teams and will join our other thirteen clubs to form a strong 28-team league. Welcome Friars!

ILLINOIS WEST MOVES AHEAD WITH PLANS FOR THE SEASON
Illinois West is prepared to start the season on schedule. This of course is contingent on the State of Illinois, USA Hockey and AHAI Guidelines. Plans include flexibility to allow the league to begin games as soon as cleared. Our goal is to provide all our teams with a full 20-game regular season schedule followed by our normal playoff structure including the round robins advancing to the Championship rounds to award the West Cup, the Scholastic Cup and the Founders Cup. West is working with all involved to ensure the least interruption to our season. Flexibility allows West to adjust the schedule while keeping the safety of our players, coaches and officials at the forefront.
