Hornets Youth Sled Hockey Game and Benefit

Hornets Youth Sled Hockey Game and Benefit Saturday, December 27 at Ridgeland Common

OPRF Huskies Hockey and the Chicago Hornets Youth Sled Hockey Team will play a friendly scrimmage at 4:30pm on Saturday, December 27 at Ridgeland Common in Oak Park. The Huskies will provide the Hornets with funds for a new hockey sled and volunteers will be collecting cash donations to benefit the sled hockey team at the door. Huskies Hockey raised over $1,500 for the Hornets during last year’s event in Bensenville.

Hornets Youth Sled Hockey was founded in 2006 by JJ O’Connor and provides equipment, coaching and ice for kids ages 5 to 20 at no cost. The organization receives 100% of its funding through donations and works to provide the freedom of hockey to kids who use wheelchairs or walkers to get around off the ice. Current Hornets players include U.S. Paralympic gold medalists Brody Roybal and Declan Farmer.

Make plans to visit the Paul Hruby Ice Arena on Saturday to cheer for the Huskies and Hornets…and to help raise funds to make hockey available to everyone in the community!
