One of Chicago’s most famous landmarks, Soldier Field is the oldest stadium in the National Football League and has hosted a number of historical events, including the legendary 1926 Army-Navy football game, the first Special Olympics Games in 1968 and the first Hockey City Classic in 2013. Be a part of Soldier Field’s 90-year history.
All-star hockey greats will reunite on the ice in this rare showdown of historical hockey talent, featuring former Blackhawks’ player, coach, and Hall of Famer Denis Savard; former St. Louis Blues forward Gino “The Tank” Cavallini; Jamal Mayers, former member of the 2013 Stanley Cup-winning Chicago Blackhawks; and former NHL All-Star and Chicago Blackhawks team captain Adrian Aucoin.
All proceeds benefit St. Jude, where no family ever receives a bill for treatment, travel, housing of food. Proceeds from the open-skate sessions, plus raffles and auctions for the chance to win signed memorabilia and prizes, will all benefit the kids of St. Jude.
The inaugural Hockey City Classic in 2013 made its mark on Soldier Field history as the stadium’s first outdoor hockey event. It’s rare for Soldier Field to transform into an ice rink, so lace up your skates for three open-skate sessions.
